I will identify several highlighted features of this Vivosun grow light that contribute to its popularity among indoor garden enthusiasts.

Build quality

I found this VS1000 LED well-built and durable when I opened the box. The materials used to build it are high quality. Also, the light housing is well-designed and has effective heat dissipation. Hence, it ensures the light operates at an optimal temperature without overheating your plant. Besides, the weight distribution of the grow lights is also very balanced, making them easy to handle and install.

Size

The dimensions of this product are something to consider, especially if you have a small indoor garden. When I first received it, I was amazed at its size – Bigger than my typical LED grow lights. While the 11.8 x 10.2 x 1.6 inches size is manageable for some setups, it can pose a challenge for a limited space.

However, it’s important to note that the larger size will contribute to high performance and broad coverage. We find this size to allow the inclusion of high-quality ingredients that ensure optimum intensity, resulting in plant growth and yield. So if you have ample space and are looking for a high-performance lighting option, the size shouldn’t stop you from considering it.

Light output

VS1000 deserves its reputation for creating a significant lighting source for healthy plant growth. It produces more light consumes less power, and generates minimal heat.

I maintained a distance of 25 inches from the canopy from the beginning, except for a brief period when I lowered it to 18 inches. Yet, I quickly noticed that my plant was starting to wilt due to its intensity, so I quickly adjusted it back to 25 inches. This incident demonstrated its power capacity and the importance of maintaining suitable spacing for optimal growth.

Coverage area

The lighting distribution is even, ensuring consistent growth on both plants. Hence, it allows for healthy foliage development and vigorous vegetative growth. However, when it came to the flowering stage, I found it necessary to add more lights to achieve full coverage for each plant.

While this device could still provide some flowering coverage up to about 2×2 square feet, I believed having one device per plant during this period would optimize yield. To solve this problem, I purchased another similar light during flowering. Hence, this ensures no areas are shaded, and every bud gets the spectrum’s full benefit.

Full spectrum

I firmly believe that full-spectrum, which mimics actual sunlight, is the best approach to indoor gardening. It provides plants with the lighting energy they need for photosynthesis and promotes healthy growth in all growth stages. And the VS1000’s spectrum helped my plants get the right balance of light.

Its full spectrum emitted is a feature that sets it apart. With wavelengths from 380nm to 780nm, including UV and IR, this device replicates the natural sunlight plants need for optimal growth. By the way, the UV and IR rays further enhance the plant’s physiological processes, such as sap production and stress response. Besides, the Samsung diodes in this product give me peace of mind about the quality and performance of the light. Samsung is well known for producing high-quality and efficient LED grow lights, and its presence in this product builds confidence in its reliability and longevity.

Cooling system

I like the highly efficient cooling system of this Vivosun because it effectively keeps the lights running quietly. Thanks to this feature, it could extend the life of the light and prevent any possible heat damage to my plants. This device emits cooler temperatures compared to other lights I’ve used before. This feature benefits me as I want to include CO2 in my tent setup. The grow light’s ability to maintain a lower temperature allows me to control the environment and avoid excessive heat build-up.

Regarding temperature management, after running it for 38 days on the 18/6 cycle, I noticed that my cabinet never got hotter than 23 degrees Celsius. Also, the dimmable intensity feature, with 50%, 75%, and 100% options, is a great asset. It allows me to start with lower intensity for my seedlings and gradually increase the lighting as my plants go through different growth stages until harvest.

In short, maintaining low temperatures while running ensures optimal conditions for plant growth and allows me to integrate additional environmental factors without worrying about overheating.

What Are Pros And Cons Of Vivosun VS1000?

After testing this Vivosun, I found its pros and cons as follows:

Pros

  • High-performance
  • Full spectrum
  • Sturdy and durable build
  • High-efficiency cooling system
  • Energy-efficient
  • Dimmable light intensity

Cons

  • Quite large

Is Vivosun VS1000 LED Worth Your Choices?

The Vivosun VS1000 is worth considering for your indoor gardening. It offers many benefits that make it become one of the best choices for many growers

The lighting output and broad spectrum coverage ensure the plants receive the energy they need for photosynthesis and growth in all stages. Also, the well-built design and durable construction add to its reliability and longevity. Besides, its energy efficiency, dimmable intensity, and accompanying accessories further increase its appeal.

Specifically, the adjustable lighting allows flexibility in different growth stages. Meanwhile, additional features such as ratchet hooks and eye protection bring a convenient user experience. However, it is vital to consider its size and coverage limitations. The reason is that it may not be suitable for smaller gardens or limited space.
